Head out of the mouth of the Merrimack River to fish for mackerel and pogies, then use live or chunk bait to try to reel in some striped bass.
Venture off the coast of NH and MA for some ground fishing for haddock, cod, pollack, and whiting. Maybe we'll get lucky and see some dolphins!
Enjoy time fishing on or near Jeffreys Ledge pulling up haddock, cod, cusk, and hake. Perhaps we'll catch sight of whales or a shark!
If you are looking to enjoy a beautiful day on the sea rather than fishing, we can accommodate that too! We can take a laid-back voyage down the Merrimack River taking in the sights of Newburyport, head to the Isle of Shoals, and try to catch sight of some sea life.

- Boats get small fast. Each charter will be tailored to your particular needs, and we will communicate with you prior to your trip to ensure you know what you need to bring, and what you don't. If you have any special requests, please discuss with us so we can make accommodations if possible.
- Children ages 6 and older are welcome, but please let us know at the time of booking if children are included so we can plan to have appropriate life jackets available. ***For safety, we require that there be one adult for every 2 children under the age of 13.
- The Captain's fishing license covers all passengers on ocean charters. We will provide all bait, tackle, and rods for fishing.
- Please bring food and beverages - no glass containers and no hard alcohol.
- You will be exposed to the elements - please dress accordingly as it is often much cooler and windier on the water. Sunscreen (non-tinted only), hats, and polarized sunglasses are always recommended!
- Soft-soled, non-marking, closed-toed shoes are a requirement when ocean fishing.
- Motion-sickness medicine is also very highly recommended, such as non-drowsy Dramamine. You don't want to spend your time on the water feeling sick!
- We will keep your fish on ice while on the boat. Bring a cooler with ice to keep in your car for the fish you will want to bring home for dinner. We can also fillet it right on the boat for you!
- Your safety is our priority. If it the weather and seas do not look safe, the Captain will make the call to cancel and all money paid will be refunded or you can reschedule. If you cancel your trip with less than 14 days notice, a refund is at the discretion of the Captain.
- If you are pleased with our service, a gratuity of 15%-20% of the cost of the charter is the industry standard. Captain Bill and his deckhands work hard to ensure you have the trip of your life!
- Cash, Venmo, and Zelle are all accepted. Credit cards accepted with a 3% processesing fee.

Day-Off Charters was born out of a love for the ocean, fishing, and cruising the waters. We wanted to share this passion and create a different type of charter, one that caters to your desires in a clean and comfortable craft where those who prefer to watch the action can relax with a beverage and take in the sights. USCG OUPV/Six-Pack licensed, CPR and first aid certified, Captain Bill is prepared to safely take you and your friends and family out on the water. Our goal is to help you and your loved ones make memories for years to come!
